A Maryland couple is seeking justice after the remains of their deceased infant were misplaced and later found in their cremator's home, per Fox 5.

Chris Parham and Laquanda Brown tragically lost their two-month-old son in August after he rolled over in his sleep and suffocated to death. Following the child's funeral, the pair received what they believed were their son's ashes in October from Heaven Bound Crematorium in White Plains, Maryland.

In February, the couple received a call from the Maryland State Police notifying them that they had been given the wrong ashes and their two-year-old son had never been cremated.

The pair said they received a new set of ashes belonging to their son in May. Prior to the cremation, the two-year-old son's remains were found rotting in his funeral clothes in the home of Rosa Turner and Brandon Williams, owners of Heaven Bound Crematorium.

It's unclear how the remains landed in Turner and Williams' home. The discovery has prompted a criminal investigation and a $10 million lawsuit filed by the parents.

According to reports, Maryland police previously discovered improperly stored body bags covered in flies, body parts hanging out, and leaking bodily fluids during a 2024 inspection of the crematory and funeral home. The facility where the inspection occurred has since been closed, reports state.
